Madelaine Petsch Reacts to TikTok Trends
Released on 06/04/2024
[Off-Camera] Okay, oh yeah.
I'm just saying maybe this is it for me.
Maybe this is it.
[upbeat music]
This is the blush and oil base makeup trend, what?
Blush and oil base. She has blush all over her face
and she's like, underpainting blush it looks like,
and then doing concealer.
Can this can't possibly work, this seems insane.
There's no way she's gonna be able to turn this
into something amazing, is there?
Okay, now she's doing her foundation over the blush.
It still looks slightly rash-like
and then we're doing, now we're contouring.
I kind of feel like I'm gonna look like an idiot
and she actually is gonna make this look flawless.
Oh my god, oh my God.
She's putting loose setting powder over the
blush under her eyes.
This is crazy, okay.
She looks so beautiful by the end, I mean,
she's always beautiful, but that's crazy.
Like it went from hot pink face to like regular, beautiful,
snatched, flawless makeup.
[Off-Camera] Would you try this?
No. Hard and fast no on that.
I don't do my own makeup like this in general.
It's way too many steps for my brain to handle.
I'm just like throwing a little concealer
and like put my eyebrows on basically.
So this just feels like way too many steps for me
and I also get really chaotic during the process
and I would hate it while I'm doing it.
It would stress me out.
I'm a very sensitive individual when
it comes to my skin.
It like I get heat rashes easily.
I get hives from stress easily.
So I think if I did this, I would then forget I did it
and look in the mirror and have a full blown meltdown
and then take Zyrtec immediately
as if I was having some sort of allergic reaction.
This is the magnetic nails trend.
I'm actually very excited about this.
So we see some, they're called cat eye gels.
First you paint your whole mani, do not cure it,
and you'll use a magnet, shifting the gel
to create the effect you want.
Wait, this is actually really cool. I kinda wanna do this.
It's here? Okay, well obviously I have to try.
It just feels right. This is creepy though.
I don't love this. Okay, let's see.
I'm taking this way too seriously.
I think I've had this on my nails before.
Now that I'm doing this process,
I actually think I've done this with like a red or something
or like a black.
I don't think I did a fantastic job.
I'll be honest with you. I think this is a cool trend.
I usually like to have fun nails as an accent.
So I'm into this, personally.
I had a bit of an identity crisis when Riverdale ended
because I didn't know how I liked my nails,
which seems so silly, but my nails were always almond
and bright red for the longest time.
So I spent a lot of time trying to figure out like
what do I like now?
Right now, strangely enough, they're red.
So I went full circle. I thought I hated red.
Now I love red again. So here we are.
This is the wispy bangs trend. Oh, oh my God.
She almost just chopped those things off.
I'm glad she stopped. Kind of have these bangs.
Oh no, these are like straight across. I'm into this.
I love a bang.
[Off-Camera] So you have a bang right now
they're just like slicked back?
Yeah, I have a bang, it's in there.
[Off-Camera] Breakup bangs.
Do you think they're a good or a bad idea?
Breakup bangs?
I've never cut my hair after a breakup. I don't know.
I wish I was more spontaneous than the way
that I am during a breakup.
I've always thought like,
how cool would it be to change my hair?
But I never changed my hair. I'm gonna change my hair.
You heard it here first. It's all going, oh my.
Is this like an invitation?
Okay. It's creepy. This is bringing me back to the Met Gala.
He's gonna kill me for doing this.
Also. This color's not... Okay.
Do I get bangs?
Is this the moment it's time for me to...
Tomorrow's my premiere.
Should I cut some straight across bangs for the premiere?
I did it for the Met Gala in I think 2019
and I'm trying it on now in this moment.
And then I think I also used the same Met Gala bangs
for a Power Puff Girls costume
with the girls like a year later
from the Met Gala to a Power Puff Girls.
Where are they going next?
On my head in a press junket, it seems, honestly,
at first I thought it was kind of like funny,
but they're kind of slay.
This is the coffee for dark circles trend.
This kind of makes sense. Like it would increase your
circulation and she just uses it as an eye mask underneath.
Wow, that's cool.
I've never heard of this, but it makes sense.
I feel like in my head it makes sense
that it would increase circulation and blood flow.
So in theory that totally makes sense it would work.
Gelatinous, pungent, and chunky.
[Madelaine laughing]
That's fragrant.
My, my, my, is that fragrant?
Eventually we're gonna have computers
and phones that you can smell through
and then we'll be able to knock this right over to you.
I don't think I would participate in this trend.
The idea of having something this sticky
on my face would stress me out.
I've got bad anxiety
that would actually make me anxious, I think.
I always, no fail,
stick my face in a bucket of ice every morning.
It always makes me up. It's like my own personal version
of having a cup of coffee in the morning.
This is the peel off tinted eyebrows trend.
I think I've seen this.
Okay, I have not seen this brand though.
It's supposed to give your brows a three day tint
or you can just use Just For Men, which is what I do.
She's painting in her brows, this looks real thick.
Oh no, no way, this is gonna look amazing I feel like.
This is an incredible feat
for a person to accomplish.
This feels like it could be a disaster for me personally.
I have very light eyebrows.
A lot of red heads have eyebrows
that don't match their hair,
and so I like to dye them just a little bit darker
so I don't look like I don't have eyebrows
in addition to them also, being drawn on, obviously.
It's a two step process.
This is the dry brushing trend.
Oh, it's like lymphatic drainage, okay, copy.
But with a dry brush.
I'm a huge proponent for lymphatic drainage.
I think it's wonderful. I've never tried dry brushing.
I actually think I have one of these at home.
I've just never tried it. I don't think I know how to do it.
This makes total sense.
I love draining the lymphatic system, so I'm all in.
Of course there is, you think of everything.
So she goes, oh God, this is gonna hurt.
This doesn't feel, ow, I can't believe people do this.
This is crazy. I don't like this feeling.
I don't want to do that to myself.
I don't, if it works for you, that's great.
I think draining your lymphatic system is so important.
This makes me itchy looking at it.
Okay, next trend.
I love the Dermaplaning trend. I love it.
I wouldn't call it a trend, I've been doing it
for a long time.
I learned this from Lili Reinhardt
season one of Riverdale
yeah, I'm all in on this.
Absolutely, now a facialist says these things are the devil.
She hates these ones.
She thinks that I should only get it done with her,
but I don't listen to that.
I use this exact brand and then do it whenever I want.
And that's great. If I do it, I do it on a day
where I'm either doing like a mask right afterwards
because I find that dermaplaning actually allows
for my skin to soak up more of the nutrients in my skincare.
So I'm a big fan of it.
And also when you're doing like super close up shots on,
you know, TV and film, it's nice
to not have like, you know, peach fuzz.
In my opinion. I love these things. They're perfect.
The at home underarm waxing trend, no, ow I can't.
I think when I was like 12, I was in dance competition
and my mom would've let me shave my legs yet
for some unknown reason.
And so my dad bought me wax strips.
I think they were like maybe not Nair brand,
but something like that where you like rub it together
and make it hot and then put it on.
I did one and screamed so loudly.
My mom came running down and she was like, okay,
I obviously have to show you how to shave your legs
because I'm not gonna put you through this pain.
So that was the first and last time I ever did it.
I know it does a better job, but I have no desire.
It just, no, I don't wanna be ripping things off my body.
I'd much rather just shave.
[Off-Camera] Between shaving, waxing,
and laser hair removal.
Do you have a preference?
Shaving, absolutely.
No question about it. Apparently laser hair removal,
my hair is too light on my body, so you can't get it
with the laser, which is a major bummer.
But yeah, you couldn't pay me enough money to wax.
There's no chance.
This is the cooking from scratch trend.
It's a trend to cook from scratch.
I can't, this is the funniest thing I've ever seen in
my entire life.
Okay, oh, she's making the bread,
she's not making pomegranate.
This is crazy behavior. Wow. I mean, it looks gorgeous.
I've always wanted to make my own bread.
I thought you meant like kidding.
I thought you meant like getting bread from the grocery
store and like putting peanut butter and jelly on it.
And I was like, I love that, that that is a trend.
This is beautiful. It sounds delicious. Sign me up.
I cook for nutrients, which I think is a long answer of no,
I'm not like a tasty cook.
My partner is a fantastic cook. He cooks everything for me.
[Off-Camera] Nara Smith is really popular.
Oh, I know who that girl is.
She's my queen. I would love to be her child first of all,
because what a calm individual.
But also how does she...
It would take me from 9:00 AM
to 9:00 PM to make one meal of hers.
How does she do three in a day?
She's like, my kids wanted yogurt,
so I made it from scratch.
I'm like, okay, you're just an angel from heaven above
and like we don't deserve you.
The bob trend. Oh, I see, here she is, beautiful.
I'm kind of into a bob.
Wait, yeah, my publicist has this haircut
and I'm like, every time she shakes her hair out,
I'm like obsessed with it.
It's so cute. I love a jawline bob.
I don't think I have the face shape for it.
I'm gonna be honest with you. I just can't imagine it.
But, maybe one day. I guess I'll never say never.
Who is whispering try it on?
[crew laughing]
You guys are all sick in the head, what's wrong with you?
And next time you see me it's like literally this hair.
Okay, hold on.
[Off-Camera] Oh okay.
I'm just saying maybe this is it for me.
Maybe this is it.
We were going to chop my hair for the premiere,
but I think I'm too much of a scaredy cat
and I'm gonna wait till after to do it.
Thanks so much for having me Allure.
Hope to see you again soon.
