Can you believe the 2024 Summer Olympics are almost here? The world's top athletes will be heading to Paris to show off their skills, and if the U.S. Olympic Team Track & Field Trials are any indication, we won't just be cheering on Team USA. We'll be taking beauty notes too!

The trials, which serve as the qualifying event for Team USA hopefuls, took place on June 23 at Hayward Field in Portland, Oregon. Participating athletes incorporated special hairstyles and manicures to show off their personalities and make themselves stand out, as beauty has long been an important part of these high-profile athletic events; think Florence Griffith Joyner and her trademark nails and tennis star's Naomi Osaka's red braids, for example.

These track stars have trained for years for this moment, and their accomplishments are nothing short of astounding. This year, we were particularly excited to see Sha'Carri Richardson win the 100 meters with a lightning-fast 10.71 seconds, solidifying her place as part of the Olympic team—and she did so in her signature long, bedazzled nails.

Below, see some of the best beauty moments from the 2024 Olympic Track & Field Trials. We'll definitely be watching when the Summer Olympics begin on July 26.

The sprinter is heading to Paris! Richardson raced to victory in this extra-long stiletto manicure in varying shades of emerald, gold, and red, embellished with both nail art and gemstones on each nail, yet another stunning design to add to her mani hall of fame. “It definitely confirmed the year that we’ve been training for, preparing for,” Richardson shared. “I’m super excited ... to go forward with my girls.”

Triple jumper Franklin, who also qualified for Paris, pulled half of her locs up atop her head to compete, adding a scarf at the base. We love the small cowrie shell details.
